Market Researcher and Industry Analyst
Nate Elliott is a market researcher and industry analyst. He currently serves as a Principal Analyst for Forrester based in Vancouver. Nate writes research targeted to Interactive Marketing professionals in North America and Europe, and his personal research agenda is primarily focused on social marketing, search marketing, and online video advertising.
Nate is regularly called upon by his clients (including Google, Microsoft, AOL, MySpace, Facebook, and the six largest ad agency networks) and the media (including CNN, the BBC, The Economist, Financial Times Deutschland, The Times (UK), The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times) to provide analysis and insight into digital marketing and media, offering them examples of real-world best practices and giving them actionable advice on how to get the most from their online advertising. He is a widely-read columnist, having contributed to publications such as The Telegraph (UK), New Media Age, Media Week, MediaPost, and ClickZ. Nate is also a frequent speaker at industry events around the world, such as Web 2.0 Expo, Next08, Ad:Tech, and Search Engine Strategies, and at client summits for the IAB, the EIAA, WPP, Havas, Isobar, aQuantive, DoubleClick, Adobe, Digtal River, and others. In addition, he writes a popular blog in which he discusses news and trends in digital marketing, and is active on twitter.
Nate brings more than a decade of experience in online marketing and media to his work, including six years of experience at Forrester and its subsidiary JupiterResearch. Prior to his current role he was a Research Director for Jupiter, managing research from a team of analysts and leading the company’s European coverage of marketing, advertising, social media and online commerce. As an Analyst and Senior Analyst in JupiterResearch's London office, Nate established the company's European Digital Home research service; and as an Associate Analyst in the New York office, Nate successfully launched Jupiter's coverage of Search Engine Marketing. Previously, Nate served as DoubleClick's Senior Manager for Rich Media, and was the founder and co-chair of the US IAB's Rich Media Task Force. He has also worked for Macromedia (now Adobe), developing rich media advertising products and standards.
Nate is a native of Syracuse, NY, and a graduate of Cornell University. He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
